How Gearstac collects, uses, and protects shop and customer data on the Gearstac operator platform.
Who this covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Gearstac (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit gearstac.com, create a shop account, or use the Gearstac shop management Service. It applies to shop staff users and, where we process customer data on your behalf, to the operational records you store.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone, role), shop configuration, billing contacts, and operational data you enter to run the Service — customers, vehicles, orders, estimates, inspections, payments you process, messages you send, inventory, and related attachments. We also collect technical logs (IP, device/browser, timestamps) needed to secure and operate Gearstac.
How we use it
We use this information to provide and secure the Service, authenticate users, support your shop, process payments through processors you enable, send transactional product notices, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information. Marketing emails from Gearstac are opt-in and can be stopped anytime.
Cookies and analytics
We use necessary cookies to run sessions and CSRF protection. We may use analytics to understand product usage and site performance. You can control browser cookies; some Gearstac features require essential cookies to stay signed in.
Sharing and subprocessors
Subprocessors and integrations you connect (payments, SMS/email, parts, accounting, reviews) receive only what is required for that feature. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of shops, customers, or Gearstac. We do not sell personal information to data brokers.
Security
We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a multi-tenant shop platform, including access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; report suspected issues to [email protected] promptly.
Retention & rights
We retain data while your account is active and as required for legal, accounting, or dispute duties. After closure, we delete or anonymize operational data on a schedule unless law requires longer retention. Email [email protected] for access, correction, or deletion requests.
International transfers
Gearstac may process data in the United States or other regions where we or our subprocessors operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms.
Children
The Service is for business use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
